Meet Dr. Ellard
Jeff D. Ellard, D.D.S., M.S.D.
As a Louisiana native, Dr. Ellard obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1980 from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Following completion of a two year pediatric fellowship at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, he obtained a Master of Science in Dentistry in 1982. Dr. Ellard served residencies at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He also trained at Texas State School for the Handicapped in Denton, Texas.
Dr. Ellard moved to Baton Rouge in 1982 and began his pediatric dental practice. As a service to his community, he has lectured to numerous dental organizations, school and church groups, parenting classes, and pediatric dental study clubs. His post-graduate thesis was published and has been cited in numerous dental research articles. Dr. Ellard has also co-authored articles for pediatric dental journals.
Dr. Ellard is an active Fellow and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Louisiana Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Sixth District Dental Society.
Away from the office, Dr. Ellard enjoys time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is active with his church as well as youth groups. He also enjoys reading, spearfishing, exercise, and LSU football. Dr. Ellard is also a licensed instructor for the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI).
